Creag an Tuirc

The Boar's Rock is where the clan MacLaren gathered when summoned by the fiery cross for war. The view is looking towards Loch Voil and the Balquidder hills. In one of the fields below, Rob Roy MacGregor fought a duel with a John MacLaren in 1734 and died from his wounds, with Rob's son later shooting MacLaren in the back. Rob Roy is buried in the Balquidder Kirkyard. Happy days in the Highlands indeed.
