Shakespeare in Teignmouth
It was forecast to be a much calmer day today so we packed a sandwich lunch and headed off to Teignmouth. Unfortunately Dawlish and Teignmouth, although only a handful of miles apart appear to have different ideas when it comes to the weather and Teignmouth, although not windy and cold, did rain a little at first and was mainly covering the sun with large black clouds.
Not deterred we went to the Riviera and found an outside table under cover for a leisurely cup of coffee to await the reappearance of the sun. With a nod to Silly Saturday I took this pic with my phone showing the dark clouds, an expectant gul waiting for tidbits, and numerous sayings penned by The Bard still in use today!
After coffee we went for a walk along the front and the sea wall and had a little exploration of the town to see which shops had survived the lockdown. The place was quite busy which was a good sign, though most of the people were wearing their waterproof coats.
Luckily it didn't rain again and we had our picnic lunch on a bench by the sea and watched the people and the doggies......people down here really love dogs, I've never seen so many and one part of the beach is open to dogs, and their owners, all year round.
Later as we came back to Dawlish Warren we realised where the good, sunny weather had been all day!
