Diary of an Edinburgher

Chippie tea!

It rained and rained all day. And it was colder than ever. What is going on? We NEED sunshine. Indeed, JR took the car along to the gym with Chrissy.

After Archie and I had had our breakfast (he gets the last bit of my porridge) we settled down on the sofa, wrapped in my warm blanket, and I listened to a couple of podcasts. One was about a young female vet in Australia who specialised in camels. (ABC ‘Conversations’)

When JR came home, she took Archie out in the rain, but it dried up in the evening, so I took him round a few blocks. I wanted to practise my stepping out, but mainly, I wanted fish‘n’chips for tea.

Archie LOVES visiting there, where he always gets a treat. We then waited patiently for our order. Why do I always fancy this on a Friday evening, when everybody else also has the same idea.

Every time an order appeared at the door, Archie would go crazy, barking and being silly, thinking it was for him.  Quite embarrassing, but some folk thought it ‘sweet’. As the other orders came, but not ours, his barking became more and more hysterical. At last our order came. I wanted to take a nice shot of him accepting his box, but it was not to be. He just bounced around the poor girl like crazy. So this one will have to do.

No news from/about/on behalf of Uncle A. So I presume he’s still in hospital but doesn’t need anything. Surely home tomorrow...

EDIT: My cousin in Glasgow (who is listed first in next of kin) has heard that he’s not getting out till next week, while they do various assessments.
