Cornwall, Of Course

Awoke to sunshine and were able to sit outside the van to enjoy a leisurely breakfast after JD and Jorgie had had a run along the beach.However, the sun was short lived.

Staying in far west Cornwall means that you have a choice of two coasts.
The weather on the north coast is often very different to the south so if clouds gather, it's a good idea to travel just a few miles to find sun again.
That seemed true this morning.

We planned to visit Cape Cornwall, for years  believed to be the UK's most westerly point until Lands End took that honour but, passing through Penzance we decided to detour to delightful Mousehole (pronounced Mouzole!)
The scene of the little harbour is typically Cornish and we had a lovely couple of hours wandering through all the small back lanes.
If you have £300,000+  to spare you can pick up one of the two up/two down original fishermen cottages that line these lanes. Many only have a small outside space and parking spots are like hen's teeth so just how you manage to get a removal firm to help with furniture etc is a mystery. 
However, we saw many SOLD signs confirming that the housing market in the S.W is very buoyant.

Eventually we drove on around the coast to Cape Cornwall (extra) where the much grander cottages and houses would set you back a whole load more.
It was so clear we could make out the profile of the Scilly Isles (not visible in my image) but the nearest land out from this viewpoint is Nova Scotia, way across the Atlantic.
No sign today of the area of deep low pressure but with predicted strong winds for tomorrow, we decided to cut short our stay and drive home later. The roads were so quiet that we did the journey in record time
