Marriage Stone
An epic day out- actually it was only an afternoon but we packed a lot in. Finola and Robert came over for lunch and hugs were indulged in! Thus fuelled we then did a mini tour of the Sheep's Head taking in a a holy well, promontory fort, Mass Rock and marriage stone - the latter pictured above. This standing stone has a hole in it and traditionally you clutched your lover's hand through it and pledged your troth - here they are renewing their vows!
There are extras just because it was such a beautiful day - amazing colours everywhere and so many wildflowers plus larks, gannets and choughs. Weather beaten and wrecked now, a glass of New Zealand pinot on the go!
Enjoy a bit of Lunasa whilst you browse
