Mary’s Garden

Up early again today to the sounds of birds singing, view of sun shining, smell of coffee brewing and feel of kitty scratching my arm. Hubby and his 4th degree KofC crew had Adopt-A-Highway this morning. He was also getting my vinca. I made him French toast to get him going. Then I ate mine on the porch with the birdies. Moved to my new garden area so I could enjoy the softly gurgling fountain while I prayed. When he got home, hubby prepared two flower beds so I could plant flowers and we could mulch. That doesn’t sound like much but it is tedious removing liriope roots. We are quite pleased with the cleaned grotto, new statue of the Blessed Virgin and newly planted flower garden. Our grotto was in our fenced formal garden but we decided to move it once the snakes took up residence. Besides, we can enjoy that garden more having it closer to the house. By the time we finished, all we could do was shower quickly before 5:00 Mass. We visited two sets of grand pets so they could take a trip outside, collected cookies and strawberries, a gift from my daughter and filled my van with gas. Leftovers for dinner so an easy night. When you start your morning in the service to others, things just go so nice the rest of the day. Thanks for all the stars and comments of late.
