Me and my....

..... Potato....???!!!

One of their activities today was potato carving and painting. Not to be confused with potato printing. This is actual painting of potatoes. A previously unknown activity to me. I spoke to her about 7 and there was paint in her eyebrows, on her arms, her hands... She had fun. They've done some board games. They've had something bacon for tea... "there was a choice of bacon or burgers.. I obviously had bacon... Cos why would you have burger when there's bacon".....

I actually spoke to her about 6.55...she rang me. We spoke for about 20 seconds before she declared "actually, I shouldn't have rung you now. I have to go to the toilet. Shall I take the phone and just leave it outside...?" we established it was best if she call me back in a few minutes.

She's done lots of practice today, she's had the saxophone out as well as Ferdy and piano time. She said she's playing a really fun piece on the sax. She's not currently having lessons on that and is hoping she might soon have some opportunity to play it at something for school but she's enjoying just having light hearted, self guided, fun time on it for now.

She rang off from our post-loo visit call after 15 minutes, citing the fact their duty staff member had succeeded in convincing the other (slightly less enthusiastic than Katie) girls to play another game. Before she went, she said "have a good sleep. My brain says you're tired so go be sleepy soon". Girl is bonkers.

Also, we have had an entire week apart without any tears at all!
