Flower Friday: Fit for a Goddess

The Iris is named after the Greek Goddess of the rainbow. I purchased this beauty a couple of years ago from Schreiner's Iris Gardens. It is a wonderful 10-ac/4 ha garden that is open to the public during the blooming season.

The delicate scent of Iris always reminds me of my mother who loved gardening and had two large iris beds in my childhood home.
