world in a grain of sand

we went down to Bristol to celebrate mothers' day (and orchestrate the granddaughter's contributions, as two is a little young to manage that sort of thing on your own). Her mummy was pleased with her card (screwed up tissue paper blossom tree) and flowers.
It was our first visit to their new flat, I found myself envying the spacious look and have come home looking around to see what I can dispose of! Both my daughter's are less attached to "stuff" than I am - not difficult, some might say - but I do admire them.
The photo shows H admiring her "unbirthday cake". She was moving house on her birthday, so it got postponed a bit. She nobly forgo singing and candles in case R was confused, but ( despite being less attached to stuff than me) she graciously accepted the presents. Her wicker bike basket was a great hit.
