Long day tramp and drive to get there.

I drove from Whakatane to the Whirinaki Forest to see the Waiatiu Waterfalls. Even though it was quite overcast it was still very beautiful. I had enough time to see the Te whaiti nui a toi canyon while I was there. It looked a bit like the channel leading to the Huka Water Falls in Taupo. It was quite misty by then, not that great for photography. I glad I made the effort to get there.
