day #11

Gardening Blippers - does anyone recognize this flower?  Some kind of double rose or weird peony? What ever it is, it is very pretty and there are several shrubs of it in our communal garden (extra).

Yet another lockdown day #11 passed uneventfully, but not unpleasantly. A quiet morning, some chores, social media, usual stuff, then a couple of hours late afternoon online tutoring - always enjoyable, especially talking to  "Jessica" from Brazil. She works in the blood bank of a hospital in São Paulo, so I'm sure her life has been difficult during Covid, but we always manage to laugh, talk about food and drink a lot, and cheer each other up whilst I sneak in a little grammar pointers along the way....  Further cheering was achieved by a post tutoring  beer in the garden with Graham and Kat and then the evening rounded off with a nice long video chat with mbfiatw Jean cos it's Monday, stuffed peppers for dinner, and some comfort TV.

Later: our resident caretaker assures me it's a rose, and when I bent down, the typical rose scent was overwhelming.  What a beautiful thing.  My neighbour the caretaker also told me that Turks use these blooms to make rose water used in the famous sweet treat 'Turkish delight' - or 'Lokum". Live and learn,
