Sibling Rivalry
A late afternoon walk around Trentham Gardens. It's a much more peaceful time to have a wander as much of the bird life is bedding down for the night and there are far fewer folks about.
We came across this family of Canada Geese, and the sweet goslings were very well camouflaged in the vegetation along the lakeside. This duo may look really cute but they were having a real sibling spat. There was a lot of pecking, pinching and just general jostling going on.
We saw and heard our first swifts of the year who were flying over the lake with the swallows and house martins. It's be interesting to see the impact of the cold winter and dry and cold April on the wildlife this year. Roll on Springwatch!
