WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Heart of Glass

I finished fixing the sea glass to the slate (extra) it needs grouting now then I can hang it next to the woodburner on the chimney breast.
I found the little heart shaped ones among the bits of glass and wonder if they could be made into jewellery. I know blipper Lastlight has made some in the past.
I was going to stick to using the greens and whites in the heart but after I looked up Sea Glass colours on line - just out of curiosity - I decided to use all the colours as each colour has its own history, as I found out. The green, brown and white are most common and from beer and lemonade bottles bottles, the pale sea foam green from old Coke bottles, the cobalt blue are a bit rarer and from medicine bottles, yellow is very rare as not used for bottles but for tableware.I have one tiny piece in the heart. There is also a paler yellowish piece but apparently this would have been white glass which has yellowed with the sun light. Imagine how many years those bottles were bashed about in the sea and how far they’ve travelled to end up as these smooth jewels.

I had some quite big and thick bits of sea glass which I would never use for anything so I threw them among the pebbles in the garden.

Every Friday in the Methodist church opposite our house there is a food bank and also books and jigsaws. I've never been in as we are not in need. Today I took some rhubarb over as we have too much. I was invited to help myself to anything I wanted. I was hesitant and said I don't really need anything but they begged me to take some bread and rolls as it would be thrown away. It came from Tesco and they said it is to share with everyone no matter their circumstances. They also gave me cooking Apples and free range eggs. I don't think Hellifield has any really poor people.
Frank is making garlic bread with the French stick I got :-b

Last night we watch 2 episodes of The Crown S4. Tonight we'll watch another.

Hope you all had a good day.
