Sea-Dinosaurs

It's pretty rare to need an emergency post-dinner bath, but rice and gloopy Chicken Tonight sauce are not easily removed with a wet cloth.

Two little dinosaurs were DELIGHTED! They raaared and roared their way through bathtime. The bigger sea-dinosaur went to bed very quickly. The smaller one was far too giddy for sleep so he had his nails clipped instead. Once that trauma was over he was only too happy to go to bed to sleep...

Result: an evening of productivity! One painting finished, another started AND finished, and three finished paintings photographed!

It's getting harder and harder to actually take a photo on the DSLR these days. No fault of the camera: we're just not set up for it. Steve brought the tripod in from the car where it's been for the past month, the camera was sans battery and the battery was not in the charger either - but, in its defence, it was actually fully charged when I did find one. My heath-robinson lighting set-up worked well though and I have three good images to work with of the new paintings. They'll be up on the blog soon to view!

Today has been pretty good, all things considered. Tomorrow isn't likely to be very much of a mothers' day here. Steve is on PA duty at church and then he's out at a leaders' meeting in the evening so he looked after the boys this morning while I had some real quality alone time! Out to a first birthday party in the afternoon, home for tea, and that was the day gone.

Bean and Bear encountered another dog at the party. She was only small, very very friendly, pretty licky, but all she wanted was a scritch on her tummy or behind her ear but Bean just wouldn't go near her and Bear although he tolerated her coming near him (while enclosed in my arms) and actually managed to touch her, when she went to lick him he freaked and screamed. But she played outside and he watched her, obviously fascinated, through the glass. I wonder how long it will be before he no longer freaks out when animals come near him!
