Knitting squares
For fifteen years, once a month, a group of eight of us have met up to knit......and chat. We started with baby clothes for our little grandchildren, then as they grew, we made them jumpers and cardigans and then maybe another baby was born so another matinee jacket. The odd shawl, pairs of gloves and even a cable knit two ply cashmere scarf was made as a gift. My grandchildren are now too big to knit for so I am now knitting squares, which will be sewn together to make blankets for patients with dementia to put on their beds, so that when they are in hospital, they can recognise which bed is theirs. They take the blanket home with them. The brighter the better, we were told. This is my idea of bright!!!
