Queen wasp building her nest!

A Queen wasp is making a nest in our old water butt. There’s a hole in the lid where the pipe used to go. I noticed her come out the other day and took the lid off to find out where it was. It’s on the underside of the lid. Beautiful creation but I’ll have to move the lid somewhere else for now and leave it open to the elements so she goes off somewhere else. Otherwise as more wasps arrive it will become quite a colony at the back of the summerhouse! They really are amazing creations. Paper thin and delicate.
