In 1883 a Cooperative Store was built on this site. It was a handsome three-storey building. This and a few walls to the rear were retained when the site was redeveloped. It is now occupied by a "Sainsbury's Local" supermarket. The trickery of a wide-angle lens shot makes the site look narrow.  In fact this is the apex of a triangular site
