Tiptoe through the tulips
A short morning walk before the rain started, and rain it did, heavily, from mid-morning on! It was perishing cold again, but very pleasant to be out all the same, as the town is suddenly filled with cherry blossom (extra) and spring flowers.
At the top of the road lives N, a friend, a keen gardener who has a large front garden. At the beginning of the first lockdown, she turned over all the grass, and added a bit more topsoil. She's since planted hundreds of tulip bulbs in between all sorts of shrubs and grasses. Now the tulips are flowering and look fabulous. This guy had 'tiptoed' through them and when I passed by had his gaze very firmly fixed on one particular area, no doubt waiting for his prey to emerge. Though he did relax his concentration for one moment to give me the sort of distainful look that only cats can do!
