Playful Puffins

A shower this morning, but cleared into a sunny day.  Still remains cold in the breeze.  Cloud this evening. 

Up early, and ran out of gas to cook breakfast.  After we got sorted, headed north and a hike over the hills.  Popped by Julie's, and they were having a busy day lambing on the croft.  Said our goodbyes, and headed for the ferry.  Back home this evening, and a quiet night.  Might even try my first pint of the year.

Birds galore this morning.  There was plenty of bonxies (great skua), thousands of solans (gannets) and then the popular tammie-nories (puffins).  I was trying to capture other birds today, but couldn't quite get the right angles, but the puffins sat close by, and were happy to pose.  This peerie guy was having a good stretch of his wings, after returning from sea.  Taken at Hermaness, Unst.
