Back Home
Ms SatNav took us home on a totally different route from the one we used to get to Cornwall.
Going down we went north west to Birmingham, south west to Bristol. south east to Exeter, around the top of Dartmoor and then south to Herodsfoot.
On the way back we went east to Plymouth, around the bottom of Dartmoor to Exeter and then north east through Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Surrey to London and then north east home.
Going past London was not our first choice, but it was a nice surprise to drive right past Stonehenge. We've never been to Stonehenge and, at the prices they charge, we never will. I tried to take photos on my phone, but was not very successful. Just as we lost sight of the Stones, the traffic stopped and we crawled forward for about 15 minutes. If it stopped earlier I might have be able to take recognisable photos! It was nice to see them anyway.
They looked a bit subdued. Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was the rows of traffic going past daily. Maybe it was all the people paying a fortune to see stones in a circle. Maybe they just wanted to be respected and left alone. Maybe they are plotting revenge on a spoilt and ungrateful people.
Spam for tea.
