2021 Thursday — Transition Day
Little Mitzi had a 8:45 appointment with the veterinarian this morning. It was a good visit. The vet talked at length with us and did a blood test that we will get a report on early next week.
Then we headed to the house, packed the car, went thru the shut-down/close-it-up routine and at 10:40 pulled away from our SoCal house. It was slower than usual getting from our city to San Fernando Valley. We stopped there in Agora Hills for a quick lunch and potty stop and then the traffic cleared and the travel was amazing.
We stopped again at Summerland in Overlook Park to walk the dogs. The park is on the edge of the ocean, on a cliff above the shore, and so beautiful. The pups love a quick stroll across the lawn and we enjoy that the park has a public restroom. Our next stop was quick — a cold carmel coffee at the McDonald’s drive-thru in Buellton. Then we stopped in Morro Bay to fill our gas tank and to get 5 books I had on hold at the library. So from house-to-house the trip was longer than usual because of the stops, but road time was 4 1/2 hours; which is a little longer than the usual 4 hours.
So, we are settling-in at the coast and will be here for 2 weeks before I have a SoCal doctors appointment to hopefully get the okay to have surgery on my right thumb which is very painful, and I also have a birthday party luncheon for a girlfriend who is turning 70.
