Stones at Carsington Water
Here we go again - another wet, dull and cold day - sounds familiar? Still it didn't stop me going out and I had company today. Dad came with me and we toddled off to Carsington Water, in Derbyshire.
We had coffee, then lunch, then coffee again!!
In between all that eating and drinking, we made short strolls out to various locations around the reservoir. It wasn't very pleasant or warm either. There's a very accessible bird hide there, so we spotted lapwings, barnacle geese, oyster catchers and a red shank as the most notable birds.
But again it was as if someone had turned the colour control down on the world, all the landscape was very muted.
You can walk all the way round the reservoir, but it wasn't really the day for it today.
