Roots
A walk in Lower Woods took me down through the Hazel coppice to the Little Avon, which was almost dry. April has been a very dry month, and everywhere is looking a little parched. These roots would normally be submerged, but make for a decent reflection in the very clear and clean water of the river.
Through the woods a large number of ash have been felled to prevent the spread of Ash Dieback. The wood is left in the environment, which seems counter intuitive if the fungus is present. If it's not then the loss of these healthy mature trees is even more poignant.
