Mallard Point

Another grey day
with a taste of winter and
a wee skiff of snow

~ carliewired

Out at 9 AM. The snow on my windshield flew off when I engaged the windshield wipers, thankfully. I really hate scraping my windshield!

Mallard Point in Fish Creek Provincial Park was my goal this morning. I picked up coffee enroute. It was grey and wintery. No hint of sunshine yet this morning.

I found an eagle perched above the main channel of the Bow River. I watched as it preened on the tip of a broken branch. That seemed like a perilous attempt at grooming.

I tracked a pair of Canada geese and a lone fishman over the area. Both were so intent on fishing that they took no notice of me at all.

I like the near and the far view. I look at the remnants of dried grasses, leaves and driftwood. I notice the reflections in still water. It's all lovely, even on a grey day.

Not knowing when I will return home, I registered online this past week for a vaccination here. It all went through, even with my BC  contact info and  I chose the nearest pharmacy. L's neighbours encouraged me to drive to it today and see about a walk-in appointment. I did that this morning. Filled in the form, waited and was told the pharmacy is not allowed to vaccinate anyone who does not have an Alberta healthcare card. My response: "So, this isn't really about getting everyone vaccinated, is it?"  Since this whole endeavour is paid for by the taxpayers of Canada, I don't see what it matters what my permanent address is or whether I have a provincial healthcare card. Don't we want EVERYBODY vaccinated?
