Bebo Grove - In spite of the light snow falling and -2 C, L and I headed over to the west side of Fish Creek Provincial Park. I had a quick walk from the parking lot and L stayed in the car. This area of the park features a man-made lake surrounded by hillside and woods with many trails. The walkway I was on gave views down into a gulley with more trails. I followed along the lake path and spied three deer. I could barely see them through the snow falling. As I was getting back into the car a cyclist group whizzed by. They were travelling at quite a clip and seemed to be a group of seniors. I applauded their efforts on a less-than perfect day.
Glennfield - We drove to the mid-section of the park, quite different than other locations. It features a memorial park (1996-2002) where a local funeral home has planted a tree with the ashes of each person deceased. It is a novel way to forest a park. Glennfield has several visitor centres where visiting groups can be protected from the elements while programmes are in session. Our big surprise was watching a pair of osprey build their nest on an aerial platform.
We were back at the house by noon. L built a fire to warm us up again. 4 C and the snow is not lasting on the ground.
