St Martha on the hill
Mr U&L and I went on a little trip today to Chilworth to visit the church of St Martha on the hill. St Martha's hill is on the greensand ridge and believe me very high! - luckily there is a car park nearly at the top, but we still had to walk the last half ish mile up to the church, which wasn't helped by the extremely sandy soil.
The church was lovely and well worth a visit, with the views from the elevated grave yard just stunning (see extra).
Walking back down, really hurt my knee, but it was so worth it and in the car park I found the hover fly Rhingia rostrata (see extra) a really nice find,
Anyway I am stiff this evening - I need to get out and walk more!!
