Earth Day
I can remember watching the first moon landings on TV in 1969, and the first amazing pictures of the Earth (taken by Neil Armstrong I think) as it rose over the moon’s horizon. A blue orb in the dark inkyness of space.
Our planet looked fragile then, and as our understanding of the impact of human activity on the biosphere has deepened the appreciation of how fragile it is has grown. Time is running out to prevent the worst climate change outcomes, and the worst impacts on the natural world. Some really brave decisions are going to be needed, across the planet, to avoid the worst, for the sake of everyone.
