16th April is the first phase of General Elections in India. How we act over the next few weeks will pretty much decide the fate of the country for the next 5 years. Things are looking a lot positive this year. There's a lot of awareness and awakening among people about the strongest weapon that the democracy has bestowed on them (us) - the power to vote. For more than year, some corporate houses are extensively encouraging people to make the best use of their vote. One particular corporate house went ahead and made the the process of getting oneself registered on the electorate much easier. Media also has been playing a very significant role.

Other than all that, many events in the recent past in the country have actually forced people to sit back and think. Be it a terror attack or financial crisis or corporate governance failure - people and decision makers have been positively reactive towards the events.

So, this blip goes out as an appeal to all the Indians out there on the blipland - please go out and vote, and vote for the right candidate. Be the change you want to see.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find my name on the electorate list till now, which pretty much means that I wont be able to exercise my vote. But that doesnt deter me from encouraging my colleagues and friends to go out and vote on election day.
