Project 365 day 111: Misty Morning
I think this was our third misty morning this week, but today the mist did not disappear as the sun brightened; instead, the sky remained heavily overcast and mist continued to conceal the valley and downs, leaving visible only the fields and hedgerows adjoining our garden. I always rather enjoy the transformation, so long as it doesn't last too long.
Today has been very chilly again, with a cold wind - not a day for lingering outside. By early afternoon we could see the hillside, brightened for a while by thin, watery sunlight, and I sowed cucumbers, nasturtiums and two kinds of beans: fine French beans and Czar runner beans, which produce good sized white beans which we grow for drying. They are good in stews and cassoulet type dishes, and P also uses a lot of white beans to make bean milk. We have a soya milk maker, a kind of cross between a kettle and a blender, apparently standard in Chinese kitchens, which works extremely well.
