Sinuous
Thanks so much for all your encouragement for my ravings about the flowers and general beauty at the moment, and I took a few of those today - but this journal is also a record of progress on the Land here in the Alentejo - so today you get Mike plastering the new gatepost, with the container, the caravan, and the house in the background.
We needed to widen the entrance for the container to get in (and other large vehicles in the future), and this gatepost was being ripped apart by an olive tree (which our neighbour removed), so we'd have needed to rebuild it at some stage anyway. Of course, now both gates need to be extended, but that's not possible at the moment, as we've had welcome rain and clouds, so not enough electricity for the welder. Mike did use it for bits on the gatepost, and kept blowing the electricity, which meant my internet kept suddenly disappearing.
Meanwhile, I was in quite a lengthy Zoom Consultation, with folk from all over, including a lady in the States somewhere, where it was 5am, and another in New Zealand, where it was 9pm.
Gratefuls:
- 4mm of rain, always a blessing
- hoopoes and blackbirds together outside the window, searching for grubs in the damp earth
- Tom (s-i-l) deciding on his dissertation topic and getting it approved
