Dolly #2
I return to the finger story....
We’ve been doing some heavy work in the garden, D doing the brunt of it. He wondered if he’d got a thorn in his finger, and put a plaster on it to see to it later.
But it began to swell and was very hot, then became quite blue and certainly painful. Painful enough to take painkillers before bed. I suggested it might need seeing to. So my suggestion was taken up and the visit to our nearest minor injuries unit/ A&E. On phoning we were told only the patient would be allowed into the building.
The doctor was suitably impressed with the finger and said it would need lancing to release the infection. Not due to a thorn, but an inflammation. D was told it would hurt as the doctor squeezed the nasty stuff out and that he could scream, but apparently he clenched his knees instead....
The relief was instantaneous and life has continued as normal, so normal my extra shows the garden project goes on! The wound will need dressing in two days time.
Thank you for everyone who has cared for D and Dolly. I hope the added detail isn’t too much....
