Lynn B--Rest in Peace
I wrote this this morning after receiving the sad news that our dear friend passed away quietly in her sleep on Saturday night after a brief illness. She was a member of our book group, our coffee gatherings at Peet's and took care of the houses and pets of many of us when we went on vacation.
I have always loved this collage. It says so much about Lynn, her observations of people, her love of dogs, her meticulous attention to detail and her fierce independence. I bought it from her after it appeared on the cover of The Berkeley Monthly Magazine. It came with us from Berkeley to Santa Rosa and I often pause to look at it and think of all the times she came to take Ozzie for a walk while I was laid up with my foot in a cast. Not only did they have wonderful rambles together but she would stay for a chat and a beer when she brought him home. There was never a better dog sitter than Lynn. She took care of our pets as if they were her own. When she came to visit us in Santa Rosa two years after we moved here, Ozzie greeted her with delight. Now they are both gone and will be greatly missed. I like to picture them rambling around together somewhere and enjoying a beer afterward.
Lynn lived her life the way she wanted to and left it on her own terms. She lived helping others without realizing how much she was admired and appreciated by her many friends. She will certainly live on in our memories and through her wonderful art work.
