Diary of an Edinburgher

Glaziers back at work!

Spent quite a lot of time out in the back garden today - Archie was playing with his ball. I washed the pavers - those bloomin’ seagulls - while JR did two fitness sessions.

I also rang the window folk at last to tell them about our shattered window. JR saw their van this morning, so I knew they were open again. They’re coming to view this phenomenon of a spontaneously shattered pane of glass this week. Not sure if they’ve come across this before, certainly the woman in the office had to have it explained several times. ‘No - a bird did not fly into it, it’s on the inside.

I then enrolled in a cruise company presentation - just being nosy - but it was at 3pm this afternoon. JR rushed to the supermarket at 2pm, and instructed me to take Archie for a walk to the pet shop and get more poo bags. Normally, this walk would take me much longer than an hour, so I had to really step it out. I was fair puggled by the time I got home.

I looked in on Christine on the way home - she’s been away for the weekend with family. I couldn’t stay, so invited her up to sit out in our back garden. She hasn’t been for about a year!

Rushed on, and arrived home just in time to log on to my online presentation. JR rushed in too, with shopping, just in time. Phew!

Only to find out that it’s at 3pm tomorrow. DUH!

Christine came up for some bubbles and a few nibbles. The young lads from upstairs were also there, so I offered them some snacks, and then asked if they could fix my barbecue (at their own convenience). It gave up the ghost at the beginning of summer last year, and I had to wait months for new bits to arrive. Sorted now - the lads had all sorts of tools and I’ve said we owe them a barbecue. Archie was wearing his no-barking collar, so he came out and said hello to them sensibly.

So it was a most pleasant day.
