Carpenter bee

As I walked up through the old village, I spotted lots of carpenter bees on this blossom which I can't identify. The square outside the Mairie was cordoned off as we heard the Maire's wife died suddenly on Friday and today there will be mass and a ceremony. Local Maires and possibly even the Prime Minister will be there as he used to be Maire of Prades, our nearest town. There were just three of us for French conversation this afternoon. Sadly, our francophone member is moving back to her roots in Normandy so we need to find someone else who will fulfil that role.
