A walk with Charlotte

This morning our friend, Charlotte, went on a walk with us. We took her places that she'd never been before and we all had a lovely time.

BUT there's always a but isn't there................................. I wasn't a very good little collie today. I was being very silly. I'm almost two and a half years old so it's not like I'm a weeny, teeny little puppy any more. But I was acting like one?!!! It's like the minute that there's someone else around I go into 'spoilt brat' show-off mode. As soon as Charlotte got out of her car I was doing silly 'jumping up' at her. We walked for about an hour and honestly, my behaviour was appalling. I 'jumped up' at practically everyone that we met. Fortunately they were all 'doggie' people and thought I was lovely, but that's not the point?!

When we finished our walk Charlotte came back to our house (outside of course) for a bacon sandwich. The humans sat on the sun terrace and I continued to be very silly. I kept jumping up at Charlotte and putting my paws on the table. Ann kept telling me that what I was doing wasn't appropriate behaviour, but I didn't take any notice. I'm super friendly and after being locked down with Ann 24/7 for more than a year, obviously I'm going to get excited when I see other people.

After Charlotte had left, I had a really stern talking to. Ann said if I behaved like that again she wouldn't let me go walking with other people. Boohoo. She left me 'home alone' and said I had to lie in my bed while she was out and 'contemplate' my behaviour??!! I didn't really understand what that meant. Mmmmmmmm................... apparently it means if I don't stop acting like a spoilt brat when I'm out with other people, I won't get taken out with other people. And if I put my paws on the table/friends when people are eating she is going to bring my crate (from the car) into the house and when friends come round I will get shut in it.

…..............Oh dear! That doesn't sound like much fun does it?

…..................Obviously I'm going to have to try harder to become a 'perfect pooch'?!!!
