Another Unusual Day
Another very unusual day. Starting with an early appointment at the Notary office. One last hereditary loose end to organize. No special complications. So a short time later I could go and visit Our old friend Gerlinde. To bring her the printouts of vaccination forms we need to study in advace and bring with on vaccination day. Perhaps a docters advice is needed to fill them up. G’s own printer had ran out of ink and the printshop is closed.
Then in the comfort of her kitchen under an espresso we started to exchange experiences with that blitzvisit of Mischa&Dolf this weekend. And after that relevant lifestories came up. From the bombing of Kassel in december 1943 to the roaring 70ies in Göttingen. Studies in Liberal Arts and Education. A painfull conquest of emancipatoiry autonomy. And a lifelong enthousiastic dedication to her work as a schoolteacher. Notably in Karlshafen.
And of course our common interest: travelling and photography. Along different lines I could tell stories about leaving my academic carreer to catch up the care for Our child Mischa while Willemien was travelling through Europe searching and buying second-hand books. How marvellous to get insights into these unique courses of life, finally meeting each other years ago during the interchange of succesive Photo-expositions: After Willemiens first exposition came the vernissage of Gerlindes work here in Karlshafen.
Returning home after this heartwarming and hospitable visit I needed a moment of rest. Later sipping my tea I took up reading a bit. But my concentration failed. To take up writing and sketcing I felt too tired. Tomorrow morning perhaps a fresh new start may be possible. As for now it really is time to leave this journal and have a good nights sleep. You too, I wish you the same. See you again and thankyou for following and reading!
