Mystic Forest

Well we had our one day of Spring and now we are back to normal for this Winter.
The rain arrived overnight accompanied by fog which during the afternoon was the thickest I have seen since moving to the Island.

To me there is only one place to go in these conditions and that is the Forest which takes on a magical quality. The misty soft light is perfect for photography under the trees giving a wonderful tone and colour which are just not possible in the harsh contrast of bright sunlight.

I had intended staying for just an hour but ended up spending most of the day there. It was difficult to choose just one image to blip but here is one which I hope conveys some of the mystic atmosphere I felt deep inside this ancient woodland.
