Flapjacks and birdwatching
After many years' absence, today we were pleased to see house sparrows in our garden, gathering nesting material. Then we discovered they are making a nest in one of the swift boxes we've put under the eaves on our house. We've never had swifts use our boxes, but if they decide to use them this year, they may evict the sparrows. Oh dear!
We also have a robin's nest on our ivy-clad fence. Plenty of goldfinches and greenfinches, too, feeding on seed heads which I am glad I hadn't got around to removing.
This evening our ukulele teacher hosted a brilliant travel- themed YouTube Uke Jam, featuring songs from all over the world, while we remained in the comfort of our own homes.
