Diverging lines
This view was taken from the footbridge at Brunstane Station.
It is quite an appropriate image for our times. The lines diverge. The one to the left leads to the south and eventually into England. The line to the right leads to the suburban line that encircles the capital of Scotland and access to all the scenic romantic rail routes across the Highlands.
On 6th May the nation casts its vote. The latest polls suggest that the electorate is split 50/50 on the key issue of Scotland’s independence. It will be interesting to see which route the majority will choose.
Question : if Scotland becomes independent will it still require the power that currently (pun intended ) flows through the national grid clearly seen on the left of my blip?
Question : is it just me who finds it surprising that Scotland is suddenly liberated from strict Covid restrictions this Friday by the First Minister who really needs all our votes at next month’s election?
Question : why did the 2021 UK Census not happen in Scotland because of the pandemic but the Scottish elections proceeds without any such impediment ?
The holy month of Ramadan begins today. Ramadan Mubarak!
