Goroke

You know how it is when you go down a road over and over again, and there is always a signpost pointing a different way, but you never take it. You always think that, one day, I'm going to go down that road and see what happens.

Today was the day for the road less travelled.

We went through the very small Victorian town of Goroke (named after the Aboriginal term for an Australian Magpie). Victorian country towns seem to have a charm of their own - in this case a well-worn charm, but charm non the less. I imagine that in times gone by, Goroke would have been a really bustling country township, but now sadly it is a ghost of its former self.

According to Mr. Wiki, it has a population of more than 600, and it's big enough to have an Area School (with 108 students).

All in all an interesting day.

Emporiums.
