Today before the rain came
A glimpse of what my day looked like. At 7:30 I went out with Tate (and all the dogs!) to feed the chickens and Dolly, the horse. Then Tate and Jerry went to pick up tin for the roof of the springhouse. The water here comes directly from the spring to the springhouse to a cistern and then to the water tank under the house. It is cold water that tastes so great.
I and the dogs went for a walk up the mountain behind the house. It was all uphill with my flat lander legs letting me know it was not my normal walking. I found many little spring beauty flowers blooming as well as bloodroot. The trilliums were just starting to get buds. I walked for about two hours. Did my heart and soul good!
The rain poured down from noon until now so hoping we will have a little sunshine again. We really want the five dogs to go out to run off some energy.
Jerry had his first weather related knee aching thing. He has mostly had it up and elevated. Not really swelling just achy.
Brett has taken over the cooking except for breakfast. We always eat too much when he does. Tonight is steak in an onion and wine sauce with twice baked potatoes with cheese and bacon bits. For lunch we had stir fried veggies with leftover chicken from yesterday.
Brett had great news yesterday as he accepted an offer on his house and it is sold. Only one day on the market. Now the waiting for the closing date in May. The closing on his new home is two weeks before this so he has plenty of time to move his stuff. A big relief for him. And us.
We will leave here tomorrow after lunch which will probably be any leftover food from today!
