Helsington Pool

Today's drive took us out to the Lyth Valley, which, resting at the foot of the Lake District, is curiously flat by local standards. Indeed, these irrigation ditches look like they belong in East Anglia and not in an area famed for its hills and mountains.

Today we came in via Brigsteer but driving down into the valley from Kendal provides some beautiful views. I don't think it's a well-known part of the National Park and there's not actually much to do here apart from drive around but, happily, that's what we enjoy doing, especially on a sunny day like today.
