A day out!
Friday 9th April 2021
I escaped again today and went over to meet up with SueT. We went out to Parkgate and walked along the sea wall watching the birds. A kestrel obliged by hovering for us and an egret gave a fly past. I was using the long lens. In terms of photos though, I liked this one that I took when we were back by the car. Correct me if I'm wrong but using the RSPB bird identifier it could be a Meadow Pipit?
We went back to Sue's and sat on the patio, socially distanced, for a lovely lunch. To be sitting outside in glorious sunshine, without a jacket, having lunch and finishing with ice cream made me feel as though I had gone abroad, although it was chilly in the shade!
After lunch we went down to Meols and walked along the front there. We were able to photograph Redshanks, and a couple of Curlew . It was a fabulous day out. Thanks Sue! Other photos in extras.
On my way home I spotted a large digital billboard with the photograph of the Duke of Edinburgh and the dates. I hadn't heard the news but guessed what it meant so turned the radio on. Coming back into the village I drove by the church to check on our flag. I wasn't surprised to find it was already at half mast, D was on the ball. Just now checking on advice for services this weekend. Prayers for the Queen and the Royal Family. May the Duke of Edinburgh rest in peace and rise in glory.
