The House Of Many Windows
Today's image is of Malling Place in St Leonard's Street just outside West Malling town centre. It dates from 1560 but has emerged in it's present arguably over windowed state after being refronted and extended in the 18th Century with additions to the street front (as shown in my image) from the late 19th Century.
My favourite fact about the house is that it has an early 18th Century staircase built around a mahogany ship's mast which a previous owner of the house, an Admiral Charles Stewart, had purloined from a ship he himself had captured.
