The wind was very strong again and sometimes it was hard to keep upright. I frequently walk beside Windmill Wood named after an old windmill which was built in the late 18th century on a crest of a hill where it was exposed to winds from every direction. Now it is hardly visible due to the woods which have been planted nearby and must be very sheltered. It was built to mill winter feed for farm animals but in the mid 20th century it was converted and extended to provide a four bedroomed house which was for sale last year at an asking price of £685,000 I think.
