Never Say Die!
It’s almost 4 weeks since I was sent these flowers for Mothering Sunday. I am amazed that they have survived so long and outlasted all the other flowers from the same bouquets.
The extreme cold of the last few days has been replaced by extreme windyness and a temporary 5° rise in temperature. My pre breakfast scoot about on the bike was severely curtailed by a gusting wind which threatened to make me wobble into the accompanying traffic. Later there followed a walk which I considered unpleasant enough to also cut short and head for home and put the heating on.
I wish I could say I spent the rest of the morning cleaning, but it would be a lie.
I have noticed on my perambulations about town these last few months that there are still many shops, which closed on Boxing Day, still sporting Christmas decorations and gifts in the windows. The shop with the Christmas tree drawn on the window is the Shelter Charity shop
In Nicolson Street opposite the South Side Centre which appears in the extra photo.
What I should do this afternoon is brave the wind and cold and go for another walk, but what I AM going to do is pour a glass of wine and read my book. Is sloth a mortal sin?
