The Forest of Bowland
For Dan's drive today we went down to High Bentham and entered the Forest of Bowland, driving south-east to Slaidburn and then back up to Settle to do some shopping. Abi, as per usual, was happy in the back, just coming along for the ride.
I once commented on Twitter that, for a forest, it was surprisingly low on trees, only to be gently informed - you'll have guessed that this was Twitter of yore - that it being a forest merely meant that the monarch could hunt there; the tree count was irrelevant.
On a day like today, I felt its beauty in my heart.
