Mono Monday: Smooth

A theme of ‘Smooth’ from host random_angel for Mono Monday this week. I was trying to think of something that was smoother than Des O’Connor wearing a silk dressing gown and eating a Galaxy bar, and I think I might have managed.  Not many people know that André Previn (or Andrew Preview, as a certain comedy duo called him) had a career in Jazz as well as being much better known for his Classical work, but here is the evidence.  Doris Day could belt out songs like ‘The Deadwood Stage’ and ‘The Black Hills of Dakota’ but when she sang ‘lounge’ songs she was as good, if not better, than many of her female contemporaries.  Put the two together and you end up with something best listened to late in the evening with a glass of wine and a roaring log fire.  Smooth indeed.
