Glory

I awoke this morning and tried to quietly scrape the ice off my windscreen at 5.30am (it probably wasn't quietly), apologising to my neighbours in my head. The drive out to the Stiperstones was awesome, with a crisp half of a moon lighting up the sky. Met mum, dad, Becci and Helen at the carpark and walked up in awe and wonder at the gently rising dawn and the crisp white fields. We climbed up some rocks, watched the sun rise, read some scriptures and ate bacon hot cross buns. It was totally wonderful. What a way to celebrate the Risen Jesus.

Back down I drove home and ate another bacon bun before  heading out to Groove. I had an afternoon in the sun finishing the Ben Fogle book I got for my Birthday. He quoted John Muir when talking about mountains:

"I'd rather be in the mountains thinking about God than in a church thinking about the mountains".

I can relate to that so much. I also loved this BF quote which is far less eloquent but still delightful: "We need to live for hikes and bikes rather than likes and swipes".

Finished the day with a delicious roast dinner eaten in the caravan (why not?!) and then a dessert deliveroo to the neighbours (I think they love my mum more than they love me. I can't blame them).

A very Happy Easter day.
