Easter Flowers
I dashed out the back door to put the feeders out this morning (after several got taken out by a marauding raccoon last night) and discovered this lovely crane fly by the back door. As one does, I ran back inside to grab macro lens then carefully coaxed the fly onto my finger (see Extra) and moved it to the daffodils. Had it not been so cold this morning, I'd have never been able to pull any of that off as crane flies are skittish (probably due in no small part to the fact that birds find them delicious.) Anyway, It eventually crawled onto the face of the daffy and I couldn't resist getting a dorsal shot showing the beautiful wing pattern. And you can also see the extra pair of eyes on its head - bonus.
I've done some prep on dinner and am now headed outside to sit on the deck for awhile and calm myself down. Looking forward to having SIL and Ellen here this afternoon as it will keep me distracted and will also be great fun.
Took the dressing off the tiny incision this morning and now there are just a couple of small steri-strips that will wash off in due course. Massive bruising, not surprisingly, and the whole area is still tender.
Had a great chat with parents this morning. Portland is having another lovely day so they are headed out for a walk and then probably just going to wing it for dinner. It was good to hear their voices.
Have a lovely Easter - or a lovely Sunday if you don't celebrate - and remember to be kind and careful. And what's better than a chocolate bunny today?
